Office Hours
We pride ourselves in making your child’s care easily accessible. If your child is sick, we will see him or her the same day you call if it is medically indicated. Please feel secure in knowing a Trestlewood physician is available for your children 24 hours a day. You should always feel comfortable calling our office with questions.
Our office is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. We also offer Saturday hours from 8:30 am to noon for acutely ill children.
After-Hours Emergencies
If you have a question after normal office hours, please check our web site for an answer. We have developed this resource for your use and education and it is updated regularly to keep you abreast of current information.
If you have an urgent need, acute problem, or emergency that cannot wait until our regular business hours, please call the Trestlewood physician on call.
The physician can be reached by calling the on-call cell phone: (269) 998-0554.
Calling with Questions
Never hesitate to call our office with questions your child’s health. A trained member of our staff will be happy to help you.
Prescriptions
If you have routine prescriptions that need to be refilled, please call us at (269) 381-0118 with the information. We will need your child’s name, the name and dosage of the medication, and the pharmacy. We require at least 24 hours notice to refill prescriptions.
Your prescription will be available to you in the afternoon on the following business day after we are notified of the need for the refill. As always, the doctor who primarily follows your child for the particular condition must be available to sign the prescription. Calls to refill prescriptions should take place during regular business hours.
We will not be able to refill antibiotics, steroids, pain medication, or other medications that deal with acute medical problems. Your child should be seen in the office to assure the best medical treatment.
Making and Canceling Appointments
To help us keep adequate appointment times available for sick child visits, we ask that you schedule well child appointments several weeks in advance of the date you wish to visit.
If your child is sick, we will make every effort to see him or her the same day you call. Please call as early in the day as possible.
For the convenience of our patients and parents, we try to adhere to our appointment schedule. You will help us maintain that schedule if you arrive for your appointment on time, or call us if you will be late. If you will be bringing a sibling to a visit and they also need to be seen by a pediatrician, please call ahead with that information so that we may be prepared for that visit also. Please understand that an emergency or special circumstance can occasionally disrupt our schedule.
We respect your time and that is why we do our best to see you promptly at your scheduled appointment time. To help us achieve this, we ask that you please arrive on-time for your scheduled visit. Due to the nature of providing pediatric care, sometimes our physicians may run behind due to emergencies, unexpected hospital admissions and extended visits. We appreciate your patience in these situations. Know that our physicians will spend the time necessary with your child if the need arises for them for extended time.
We now charge patients with well child exams, diabetes exams and ADD/ADHD exams who do not show up for their appointment and do not call to cancel at least 3 hours prior to the scheduled visit time. The charge is $30 and is not covered by insurance.
To avoid these charges, PLEASE call us to cancel your scheduled appointment as soon as you can, but no later than 3 hours before the appointment. If your appointment is early in the morning, try to call the previous day or call at 8:00 in the morning to avoid the cancelled appointment charge. This allows us time to fill the appointment time with other children who need to be seen.
